UniMove's general Terms of Use

UniMove offers sports services for students and staff of universities in Oulu. UniMove's services are provided by Oulu University of Applied Sciences (Oamk) and the University of Oulu. These Terms of Use apply to users of UniMove services.

1. User groups

Only the following user groups may use UniMove's services as long the right to study or contract of employment is valid:

University of Oulu

  • Students (Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees)
  • Staff
  • Exchange students


Oulu University of Applied Sciences

  • Students (Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, Professional Teacher Education)
  • Staff
  • Exchange students

Other universities and universities of applied sciences

  • Students

2. Registration

Begin using UniMove's services by signing in as a user on UniMove's website. Customer information is collected according to the privacy statement. Signing in is not an obligation to purchase the sports fee, but it is a precondition to start using the services.

​​​​​​​3. Sports fee

Use of UniMove's services requires the payment of a sports fee. The validity period of the sports fee is displayed in the UniMove mobile application and on the customer's "My information"-section in online store. Access to the services must be authenticated through a mobile application or through "My information"-website. Access to the services is personal and may not be loaned to any other person. You agree to these Terms of Use when you purchase access to the services from the online store. At the same time, the person gives UniMove permission to process their own personal data. The paid sports fee is not refunded to the customer in any case.

4. Service seasons

UniMove has four seasons:

  • Academic year 1.9. – 31.8.
  • Autumn 1.9. – 31.12.
  • Spring 1.1. – 31.8.
  • Summer 15.5. – 31.8.


During Christmas and summer the services are limited.

5. Insurance

An insurance policy is not included in the fee. If required, you should provide your own accident insurance cover.

6. Booking

Booking is required for instructed classes, team sports shifts and regular shifts. Booking opens 7 days before the start of the class / shift. You must be a UniMove customer to book a class / shift. You can have up to 8 bookings at a time. If you need to cancel your booking, please do that at latest 3 hours before the class begins, to release your spot for someone else. Booking must be confirmed before the start of the class via the mobile application or website. Confirmation is possible no earlier than 90 minutes before the start of the class. To improve our services, we are tracking the bookings and the amount of participants attending the classes. If client books a spot, but do not attend to the class for five (5) times, will booking option be restricted for one week.

Instructions concerning the bookings and schedules for courses and events will always announced together with event information.

7. Chances to services and cancellations

UniMove reserves the right to change the service’s terms of use, content, operations, limit the number of attendants and cancel classes due to low attendance or other reasons without compensation.

UniMove services canceled due to unavailable instructors, problems with facilities or other difficulties are announced on the sports calendar.

8. Sports facilities

Persons who do not have a valid sports fee may not enter the facility. If a user damages the equipment, other property or facility, the user shall be accountable for the costs. Details of compensation will be negotiated case by case. If a user notices damages in equipment or facilities, the user must inform UniMove's staff immediately.

UniMove shall not be responsible for personal injuries or material damages which concern the users or their personal belongings and have occurred at the sports facilities.

9. Sanction policy

A person using the services without a sports fee will be removed from the services. In the event of abuse of the terms of use, the customer's right to use the services may be revoked and the customer may be subject to a temporary ban on the purchase and use of UniMove's services. Upon expiration of the prohibition, the customer can redeem the license by paying for the services in accordance with the price list.​​​​​​​

The customer is automatically banned from booking for a week, if it is found that he has not confirmed the classes / shifts he has booked and has not canceled them either. The booking ban follows a total of five (5) unconfirmed / uncancelled classes.
